These days, many of your connections with people will happen on social media. It is often where potential new clients will stumble across you for the first time and be intrigued enough to click onto your site to find out more about you. So if you want to create an amazing impression from the get go and MAKE.THOSE.SALES then here are a few quick tips on how you can strengthen your social media branding.
Keep your visual branding consistent
Look at this screenshot of Brit & Co’s Instagram feed. Isn’t it amazing?
The colours are consistent, the subject matters are consistent and they use a lot of fun graphics. Everything they post is on-brand. And it makes an impact straight away.
This is how you want your social media to look. Everything you post should fit with your brand. The subjects you post about, your colours, fonts and types of images should all be consistent.
That way, when someone finds your profile, they are immediately blown away by how professional you look and want to learn more about you.
This works particularly well on Instagram as it is such a visual platform. But its also important to create consistent social media branding on your other channels too.
You can do this by using similar images in your Facebook posts or sticking to the same Pinterest templates.
Refine your profile
As a small business, you are unlikely to be on just one social media channel. Chances are you have profiles on at least 3 or 4.
The same goes for your target market.
You want them to instantly recognise your brand whenever they see your profile pop up and you want them to be following you everywhere.
So use the same profile pictures / logos and make sure they are high quality. Keep your social media handles the same on each channel and as close to your business name as you can get.
Use your profile description to pique their interest and make them want to learn more about you. If you offer an email opt-in freebie, include that in your bio to encourage people to sign up to your list.
Use a consistent voice
This kind of goes with what we talked about at the beginning. Keeping everything you post on social media consistent and on brand. That means talking to your target market in a consistent way.
If you use an informal, chatty voice then you need to make sure you are doing the same across all channels. Remember, this is about communicating certain messages to potential customers and providing content that they can relate to.
Whatever you do, just remember to be human. Reminding people that there is a person behind your brand will enable you to build much stronger connections.
Use social media templates
And lastly, creating a consistent look and feel across social media isn’t always easy. And it takes time.
In order to make your life much easier and speed up your social media marketing process, use templates.
That doesn’t mean that every image you post has to be a template, but using them for certain things such as promoting new blog posts, offers or posting quotes can do wonders for how your profile looks and help keep your sanity by making your social media marketing process much quicker.
